Blobs, Art, and DnD

Well, I was at Enchanted Grounds last night and since Steve left, I guess I will take charge in the events. This was my first jam since leaving Calders Coffee and joining up with Starbucks (I'm sorry everyone) and I couldn't be any happier to be around people that enjoy a good cup of coffee, enjoy the art of it, and have the knowledge.

Congrats go to Jeff from Fluid. He won the Tal-Tack (for now) and we had 10 people compete for it. We also had quite a few new people which was cool and I met the Browns who are looking into opening a shop in the DU area down the road. Good luck to them. They seem like the have the will power and I hope everybody supports them. We all need to support each other to survive.

We also had over 30 people show up the the jam and luckily Enchanted Grounds is such a big place because they had quite a few customers in the shop as well. They worked quite hard on keeping their shop together while we got to play. For that they get a high five via this blog. We saw quite a few different styles of art, including the blob, but it was a great experience and I went into work today to try out some new things I learned (I had an okay butterfly today.)

Thanks everyone for showing up and I'm sure that Steve will have the details for the April Jam up soon.

PS: I took quite a few pictures of everyone and Steve will also be putting those up since I was using his camera.

Peace Out
Bad Rad Brad

New Time & Art

Thursday is almost here. The jam will be at Enchanted Grounds in Highlands Ranch. Yes it's a bit on the South side but always worth it. By the way, once you know how to get there it is easy, but if you've never been there watch out. Google Maps does a decent job of showing the lack of exits from C470 to Colorado, so if you are coming from I-25, exit on Quebec, head west on County Line, then South on Colorado. From the west, exit University and head East on County Line to Colorado. Don't try to take Colorado Blvd all the way from Denver, since it doesn't go through.

Latte Art is the topic. Get ready to learn, improve or simply throw down the gauntlet in our mini competition. Once again, Mike Strumpf will be leading the way, but feel free to share your knowledge too.

Espresso is an important part of good latte art. Ryan Palmer is bringing a few extra espressos from Bumper Crop, Rocket Coffee and others. He'll be doing a side show exhibiting these coffees so be sure to get involved.

Also, from now on the jam will be 1/2 hour later, so 6:30 - 8:30. this is only a change in words since we've been on that timetable anyway.

6:30 - 7:15 - Socialize, open jam, explore Enchanted Grounds' huge cafe/game room
7:15 - 8:15 - Latte Art lesson, tips and styles, hands on work
8:15 - 8:30 - Crown a new champion, holder of the tal tack.

See you there!

-Steve
